Growing up!

Hi Guys!!!!!! I've missed you guys and  my blog so much! I recently moved and started graduate school so I haven't had time to post anything. I'm going to set myself a schedule so that I can make sure I post regularly. My parents have done so much for me and have helped me and now I'm growing up! Growing up is hard but I'm glad I can now do for myself. I will be back soon with more post so keep on the look out!

1st ever Haul!!

Whats  up F.L.Y Gals and Guys!! This is my first ever Clothing Haul!!! Its not an extravagant haul but it's just a few things I picked up. It was Tax free weekend in Tennessee so I decided to partake in this massive event. I  by passed the mall because I knew it would be beyond packed. The stores I went to was packed as well but I found some great items. Check it out below!

I also bought a purse and belt but didn't get the picture. Anyway I have been Sleeping on Cato's!! I use to hate going to Cato's with my mom when I was younger but I was glad I went this time. The tops are just regular casual shirts. I love these dresses I found. I can do alot with these dresses..I cant wait. Now on to the shoes! The heels are more casual and something I wouldn't usually buy but I got a few compliments on them. I love the flats I purchased especially the purple suede! I love love the purple ones. OOOOhhhh I cant wait to pair these with a funky outfit.

Hi Guys! Right now I am trying to come up with more post ideas. Since I do not have a high tech camera to upload with its harder for me to upload pictures and videos. I want to do a clothing haul on some items I just purchased but If I can't get that together then its back to the drawing board for me. Most of the blogs I follow are fashion blogs. The majority of them do OOTD, make up and hair tutorials and things of that nature. Don't get me wrong I love fashion(especially Plus Size) make up and hair but I'm not an expert or guru in that area so my post won't always consist of that. I really want my blog to be great  so I am going to reevaluate my ideas and come back with something bigger and better!
OK I told you all about a positive challenge I was going to do and I did it last week but I'm not sure if I will keep posting it. This is what I did.

Day 1: Call and Check on someone.
I decided to check on my cousin Destiny and to find out her mom was sick so she was happy I contacted her to just check on her.

Day 2: Txt a short txt to the first 5 people in your phone.
I did that and 3 people responded and I had a good convo with 2 of them

Day 3: Write down 5 things that made you happy throughout the day.
1.Picked up my nieces from school on the first day
2. Went grocery shopping for healthy food
3.Confirmed my apartment rental!!!
4. Hilarious conversation with my mom
5. Made a chicken fajita that was very yummy

Day 4: Read a daily proverb for the day
I read 1 Peter 2:24

Day 5: Smile while talking to people. ( Even while txting)
The only problem I had with this is remembering to do it. But I did lol!

This challenge made my week better!

Lets be POSITIVE!

Hi guys! I haven't posted in a week or so because I'm trying to get everything together so that I can move and start graduated school! I'm very excited and a little bit nervous to be on my on (in a way). I pray that everything comes together and work out in my favor.
OK so I went over to High Heels & Good Meals and she was talking about a Positive challenge another blogger was  trying. Random Bites of a Sweet Life has been doing a daily challenge of doing positive things for herself or others since July and will continue to do it until the end of the year. She picks random things out of a hat each day and does them. I think this is something I want to try. I know I'm starting late but I will be starting on Monday August 6 and at the end of the week I will let you all know what I had to do and exactly what I did! If you all want to join well com' on! I think this will make each day better!

Hi y'all

This summer has been extremely hot especially with this heat wave going on. What do you do to your hair when it's hot? Well braids are definitely in this summer! Usually during the summer the typical braids are twist dreads, micros, and tree braids. This summer the braid styles are mainly goddess braids. center braid bun, and the fish tail braids. There are so many different ways to style these great braids. Every where I look someone is rocking a certain style of braids.  This summer I too have rocked these different styles and have loved it. Later I will post my version of the center braid bun.

Weight Loss!!

Hi Guys,
Today July 10, 2012 I started my weight loss journey. Ive tried many of times to loose weight but this time I came to the conclusion that I must do it.I don't want to be skinny but I want to be healthy. I will not be giving up (totally) on my favorite foods but I will be cutting back and watching my portions. Here are some foods that I will be limiting or giving up:
Drinks and juices with sugar
White bread
Red Meat
Fried food
Junk Food
Sweets (my ultimate favorite)

I will be replacing those items with:
Fruits
Vegetables
Whole Wheat
Baked foods
Healthy snacks

I will be exercising 1 hour and 30 minutes everyday  except Sunday's.If you are on your quest for weight loss please don't give up. I know this journey will be rough but with self control and prayer I will be able to do it.

BBQ Season!

Whats up guys!  On fourth of July eve my boo suprised me to see some fireworks and im Not a fireworks peroson but I enjoyed myself!

I let my shoe be the statement piece so I didn't wear much jewelry. I love these shoes from Urban OG.  I bought these Pink and Cheetah print wedges last summer and only wore them a couple of times.
The festivities at the firwork show was great. They had food, games, and a live band. They had the normal summer/carnavial food but one thing that was different was the crepes.

BET Awards Recap!!

Hello...so last night was the BET awards 2012 and in all honesty it was ok..cool but not the best.  The opening with Sameul L. Jackson and Spike Lee was good and the tribute to Whitney Houston was AWESOME. Im glad they chose Monica and Brandy to perfome.Oh and  her mother took me there!!!. They could have kept that Chris Brown performance..Sorry.On the fashion side of things there were alot of hits and misses in that department. Yellow was defitantly a huge color for the night. Here are a few of  my fashion favs of the night.

Hi Guys, FINALLY I have a successful DIY project to share. Ive really been admiring these head pieces alot of people have been rocking this summer.

I decided to try it myself since I've seen so many tutorials on YouTube. My creation didn't come out perfect but It did come out rather nice. I decided to wear it to a baby shower and received alot of compliments.

Excuse my niece in the back sleep lol.

I got the chain from Micheal's for about $4. It wasn't the exact chain I wanted but it still worked out.

DIY Diaster!!

I  watch the Do It Yourself (DIY) videos  on YouTube all the time so I decided to try it myself. Um Yea big mistake lol! I'm not necessarily the creative person but I just had try it my self. I tried the denim cut off shorts and it came out sooo wrong. I'm not going to give up though. So far I've done the denim jeans into shorts, the t-shirt into a tank top and a tank top with a creative back design. Lets hope one day my creative juices start to flow!

Do you Like you?

Hi Guys,This will be a really quick post. I just felt like telling my story. Ive been plus-size all my life and I thought I've always had confidence. I believed I always carried myself in a decent way and all that good stuff. From the outside you would think I was plus Size and loving it but that was Not how I was feeling on the inside. I was a wreck on the inside. No matter if it was shopping, looking on facebook, or viewing a blog, seeing other people dress nice and owning their look sadden me because all I wanted to do was feel on the inside the way I looked on the outside. I had to come to a conclusion and tell myself that if I wanted to be Full Figured and F.L.Y that I had to FIRST LOVE MYSELF (inside and out)!!!! I had to dig deep but I was able to do it. I said all of that to say regardless of how you look, how people portray you, your size, race, or whatever before anyone can love you, you have to First. Love. Yourself.!!

Hi Everyone! I hope you all have enjoyed your week...My week was ok. Ive been job hunting and BOY am I tired of filling out applications ugh! Anyway, I ran across some sexy pictures on Tumblr and it made me think......

Seeing pictures like this make me wonder why all plus size women don't embrace their curvy body like on this Picture? Yes, even I cant stand to look at my extra fat sometimes but that extra fat is apart of who I am and we (as plus size queens) should embrace and flaunt what we have. Im definitely going to take some very sexy pictures and flaunt what my momma gave me lol!!! Would you plus size gals out there take nude or revealing pictures??
