Homecoming!

Hey Yall! For those of you who doesn't know, I am an alum of The Illustrious Tennessee State University! My blood runs blue! This past weekend was our homecoming. If you haven't experienced an HBCU Homecoming you are definitely missing out! TSU Homecoming is a non stop family reunion and party. I was able to catch up with old friends and my family. The activities I attended was the pep rally, step show, tailgating, and the game. I was to tired to get up and go to the parade. Homecoming nightlife is one you have to prep yourself for. There are so many parties, clubs, and night events to choose from. I went to a couple myself and I had a great time. Now I must say, TSU is a fashion run way. When its homecoming time everyone wears there best, just like court yard Wednesday( its a TSU thang lol)! I didn't get to take many pictures. If you ever get a chance to attend an HBCU homecoming please do. What HBCU are you repping?

Hi Guys, Its officially fall! With that comes fall festivals, haunted houses and hay rides.I love going  out and enjoying these activities with loved ones, especially haunted houses.Even though I know non of it is real I still get scared. I took my nieces and nephews to the corn maze. The older kids went to the corn maze and the younger one rode the haunted hay ride and a small haunted house. I couldn't even attempt to be afraid because I was laughing so hard at how scared they were. Of course they boasted how they weren't going to be scared but was screaming at the top of their lungs. I wasn't able to get good pictures, my phone wouldn't cooperate. If you can, go out and enjoy these fall activities.

Happy Fall!!!

Do you love you? Something like a ramble.

Hi Guys, hope everyone's  week has been great so far. This post is just something that was on my mind. I admit I've looked at people's facebook or instagram wishing I had their style, confidence, looks or whatever. I've had thoughts wishing Every guy would think I'm good looking or wished every body wanted to hang with me. I had to realize that as long as I think I'm good looking, the coolest person to hang around, and stylish in my own way then who cares what others think. I have to love me for me! Also, I'm the type of person that would do anything for my friends and family. I felt that since I never heard  the Thank yous, you're the best, omg Vicky I love you that I wasn't as great of a friend, cousin, or whatever. I had to learn that I'm just a giving person. I'm not going to hear words of praise all the time but if i was born to be a blessing to others I should be grateful for myself. Loving me for who I am will be the best for me. No one else validation is needed!!! Remember, The love you have for yourself is the best LOVE there is!

Enjoy the rest of your week !

New Author Aleart!!

Greetings to all my F.L.Y readers out there!
One of my very first friends from childhood published a book. I thought it would be befitting that I interviewed her and shared it with the blogging world.

To Grandma's House I Go By: By Anquisha Crutcher

Tell us about your book:

This book is about a young girl, who name is Tanner Gant, and she is on her way to her grandmother's house after school on what is known to be " Corn Bread Day". But while she is on her way there she runs into some problems. And the big question is will she make it there on time?

Is it a fictional or non fictional book?

This is a fictional book, mixed in with some of my life experiences.

Is is for kids, teens, or is it more of an adult read?

This book is more so for all ages.

What was your inspiration for writing the book?

My inspiration for writing this book is God and also the great memories I had while growing and visiting my own grandmother's house.

How does it feel publishing your first book?

It feels so good! And I can honestly say I'm blessed!

What authors are you influenced by and why?

Sue Monk Kidd is one of my favorite authors. my first time reading one of her books was when I ws in high school and the book is called, The Secret Life of Bees, and since then I've been in love with her writing. Reading her books draws you in and makes you feel like you are in the story. And that is exactly what I want my readers to experience when they read one of my books.

What helps you get your thoughts together to write books?

Sitting down and quietly remembering my life experience; this helps me get my thoughts together to write books.

What makes your book stand out?

What makes my books stand out will be it's title because this title is an eye catching title that most readers can relate too.

Have you written any other books? If so, what makes this book different from them?

I have written one other book before this one, but this is the book that I decided to promote first because I felt that readers could relate more to this one.

It takes courage and faith to write a book and publish it. Kuddos to you girl!
You can purchase the book Here!

Something Like A Rant

HEEEYYYY!!! Omg It has been a VERY VERY long time since I have posted anything. So much has happened since Ive last blogged. I started blogging just to try something new and different. Well, after I started to get the hang of it I started graduate school. GEESH! That was no joke. It definitely took me away from blogging and a social life period. Once the stress of Graduate school hit, I felt like everything went down hill from there. School, my job, and my relationship all went wrong at one time. I won't get into all the stress I felt and the rock I hid under. But Glory to GOD, I'm from under that rock! I'm currently taking a break from school and has recently  moved back to my home town. I never thought moving back would make me feel so refreshed. I'm not where I want to be but Thank God I'm not where I use to be. Just know that if you're going through anything, just keep praying and keep the faith. God will surely see you through it! Hopefully I will be back to blogging soon.
